Michigan Summer EBT is a program to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries during the summer. Children who get Michigan Summer EBT can still participate in other summer meal programs.

On Saturday, March 15, the Hartford Middle School Science Olympiad team competed at the Regional Tournament at Western Michigan University. The Team placed 8th out of 23 teams securing them a bid for the State Science Olympiad Tournament at Michigan State University in April. Below are individuals who scored well enough to place in their individual events:

Middle School Students of the Week! (3/7/25)
8th Grade, Drake Hagglund: Drake is a constantly participating member of class who has been making lots of improvements in his efforts and successes in class throughout the year. His teachers are all very proud of him.
7th Grade, Claira Westberry: Claira is a thoughtful and well-liked student who consistently puts effort into her work. She actively listens, communicates respectfully with teachers and classmates, and is a bright spot in all of her classes.
6th Grade, Franshesca Calderon-Vega: Franshesca is always doing the right thing in and outside of the classroom. We are lucky to have her in the 6th grade.

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9, 2025. The Michigan Department of Education’s (MDE) Office of Educator Excellence wishes to celebrate teachers across Michigan for the entire month of May.
MDE invites parents to submit 15-30 second videos of their students recognizing and thanking a specific teacher for their impact. Cell phones easily capture the videos. Please follow the directions on the flyer. Videos and parental consent must be submitted via the Teacher Appreciation Video Project Google Form. Videos are currently being accepted until Friday, April 16, 2025.
Submitted videos may be posted on the Teacher Appreciation Month webpage and MDE’s YouTube channel. The Office of Educator Excellence’s Facebook (@MIeducator) and X (formerly Twitter) social media pages will be promoting the videos throughout the month of May.
If your child has great things to say about a teacher, use the instructions found on MDE’s website to submit a video today!



The junior class of 2026 and 7th graders going on the DC trip in 2026 are selling spring flowers! Sell dates are from March 4th to March 19th, with expected delivery the week after spring break. See Mrs. Manning or Mrs. Morsaw with any questions. 💐

Secondary Art Show will be held during conferences 2/25 and 2/27 from 4:30-7:30 in the Middle School Gym and High School Library. Artwork will also be in the High School Art room on Tuesday only.

Hartford students are able to receive free period products! In Section 99g of the State Aid Act for fiscal year 2024 Hartford participated in a pilot program for schools to distribute period products, upon request to eligible student.
