September Safety Tips from the School Resource Officer. The flyer welcomes students back to school and shares safety reminders: slow down in school zones; practice bus safety; look both ways when walking or biking; speak up about bullying, threats, fighting, weapons, or anything unsafe; think before posting online; protect accounts with strong passwords; stay aware of your surroundings; follow school rules and procedures; look out for one another; and call 911 for immediate threats, serious injuries, fires, or other emergencies. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about these tips and identify trusted adults they can go to for help. The School Resource Officer reminds the community that school safety is a team effort involving students, parents, staff, and law enforcement. hpsmi.org.
